01 / THE PROBLEM
You are still functioning. But something is taking too much of you.
You are still performing. Still showing up. Still handling what needs to be handled.
You meet every professional obligation placed in front of you. But something has gotten through, and you cannot seem to put it down.
You think about it in the morning. You think about it in meetings. You replay conversations while driving. You wake at 3 a.m. and your mind returns to it immediately.
You may still be performing well enough that no one around you notices.
But you notice.
You know how much of you this is consuming. And you know you are not operating at your normal level.
Managing it is no longer enough.
It may be something you have been carrying for months, perhaps years.
The difficulty is not that you lack the intelligence to understand what is happening. You understand it very well.
The same discipline that made you exceptional at your work has also made it easy to keep functioning, and very hard to stop and address what is actually wrong.
You are used to solving complicated problems. Now you are facing one you cannot seem to solve alone.
Whatever it is, you have been managing it. And managing it is no longer enough.
People accustomed to carrying responsibility.
This work is for physicians, surgeons, and attorneys.

People who have held it together for a very long time and who have reached the point where they are no longer willing to keep paying the price of doing that alone.
If that describes you, you are in the right place.
I am Dr. Flávio Souza-Campos.
More than 44,000 individual sessions over nearly thirty years.
My training spans biomedical science, philosophy, and medicine. I have written extensively about these subjects and worked with professionals across medicine, law, and related fields.
That breadth of training has not given me one method to apply to everyone. It has given me the range to meet each person where they actually are, intellectually, emotionally, and practically.
There is one further thing I would ask you to consider.
I do not approach this work only from the outside. I have been through a period of serious personal difficulty myself, and I came through it. I will not describe it in detail here. But I know something about carrying a problem that feels too heavy and about finding a way through.
My work is shaped by that personal understanding, by my training, and by the experience of sitting with thousands of people as they confront what matters most to them.
Different ways of working with one human being.
I combine philosophical inquiry, individualized coaching, and clinical hypnosis.
Not as a set of techniques applied in a fixed sequence. I use them together, according to who you are, what you are carrying, and what you want to change.
Philosophical inquiry
We examine the meaning you have given to your circumstances, the assumptions beneath it, and what you believe is possible from here.
Individualized coaching
We address the decisions, actions, and habits that may be keeping the problem in place.
Clinical hypnosis
We work differently with learned emotional responses, associations, and behavioral patterns that may persist even when you understand them intellectually.
Understanding what is happening matters. But understanding alone is not always enough. The question is what changes when you return to your actual life: how you respond, the decisions you make, and whether the problem still occupies the same space in your mind.
Read The WorkThe work follows the problem, not a timetable.
Sessions are scheduled according to the needs of the work rather than a fixed weekly structure. We agree on the scope and availability of the engagement before we begin.

Our first meeting is a working session, not a sales presentation. We begin with your problem. You experience how I work. Afterward, you decide whether you want to continue.
If you choose to continue, we arrange the six-week engagement. If not, you pay nothing.
Schedule Your First SessionBring me the problem. We'll start there.
If what you have read describes your situation, you can schedule a complimentary 30-minute first session.
